During Season 6, Charles Bickford became ill and sadly passed away at the age of 76. The rest of the season had John McIntire, Christopher Hale
from Wagon Train (1957), and Jeanette Nolan, who played Clay and Holly Grainger, the new owners of Shiloh Ranch. They were both married
on the show and in real life. They stayed on the show until Season 9: The Men From Shiloh. Their son, Tim, was on 4 episodes of the show.

Stacey left the show after Season 6, but Elizabeth stayed until Season 9.

Season 7 introduced David Sutton (David Hartman) to the show, who stayed for one season.

David Hartman had already been on an episode of Season 6 as a guest star
and a different character. David and Trampas never seemed to get along.

Jim Horn (Tim Matheson) replaces David Sutton in Season 8. He also stays for only one season.
He played Michael Harmon on two episodes of Leave It To Beaver (1957) and was also on episodes
of My Three Sons (1960). Tim Matheson was born Timothy Lewis Matthieson on December 31st 1947.

Many of the best Virginian episodes from the later part of the show were in Seasons 7 & 8.
